Project Scope:
An earth fill dam of 84 ft height with gross storage capacity of 4780 AF has been constructed & will provide the following benifits:
  • Agricultural benefits from the command area of 688 acres.
  • Fisheries benefits.
  • Employment during construction: Direct= 300 & Indirect= 100 for 02 years.
  • Employment after construction: Direct= 06 Nos & Indirect= 224 Persons of about 112 families.
  • Overall up gradation in socioeconomic status of beneficiaries

The scheme was started in April, 2008, the physical activities regarding construction of Dargai Pal dam in SW Agency completed within stipulated time frame with enhanced (52%) scope of work & critical law and order situation in the project area. Moreover, there was severe difficulty in traveling to the project area due to long distances involved & carriage of essential materials (cement, steel etc). For construction supervision the services of NESPAK were hired. The quality of work is satisfactory & the construction of dam and related works have been completed within the time frame. The Dam has been handed over to Executive Engineer Hydel & Power Division, Wana South Waziristan Agency for operation & maintenance.
