Project Scope:
To prove the reserves and grades of the manganese ore in order to explore & develop indigenous manganese deposits and to reduce its import, through the following study.
  • Delineation of prospective zone.
  • Aditing & core drilling for determination of sub-surface behavior.
  • Geophysical survey to delineate underground potential anomalous zone.
  • Laboratory and pilot scale study for up-gradation of ore.
  • Outsourcing of the established deposits.

Present Status:
  • Regional geological mapping of about 845 sq.km. area of Bajaur & Mohmand Agencies completed on scale 1:50,000.
  • 7 sq.km. area mapped on scale 1:500, 1:1000 & 1:2000.
  • 29 Nos. of exploratory Trenches excavated in various prospects to the extension and quality of manganese ore.
  • So far 148 ft drivage has been driven on Takht manganese prospects.
  • 300 Nos. of Manganese ore and rock samples analyzed in PCSIR Labs & MTL of DGMM KPK, Peshawar. Ferromanganese alloy successfully manufactured from manganese ore of Bajaur Agency.
  • Geophysical survey carried out in 4 sq.km in Bajaur & Mohmand Agencies in order to determine anomalous zones at depths.
  • 500 meter core drilling conducted in Mohmand Agency.
  • A contract for establishment of ferromanganese plant based on FATA manganese has been signed on 27th August 2012 with a private firm M/s Royal Foundry Peshawar.
  • Two acres plot in Mohmand Marble City demarcated for establishment of ferromanganese plant.
