Project Scope:

Identification, location and establishment of new coal clusters in the potential coal bearing formations for outsourcing to private sector, through the following studies:

  • Geological mapping of about 700 Sq. km area
  • Detailed mapping 70 sq. km.
  • Basinal studies
  • Exploratory aditing
  • Core Drilling
  • Computation of reserves

Present Status:
  • Geological map of 700 sq.km area on scale 1:50,000 prepared.
  • 70 sq.km area mapped on scale 1:10,000.
  • Measurement of 3 stratigraphic sections completed.
  • Basinal, stratigraphic co-relation studies carried out.
  • 9 trenches & 2 pits excavated, out of  these 6 No. trenches have shown coal showings. Samples were collected for chemical analysis and trench logs prepared.
  • 480 feet aditing done and bids opened.
  • 266 meters strata drilled and logged.
  • Due to security issues and kidnapping of project staff, physical work on the project is suspended since 10/12/2011.
  • Out of six kidnapped employees, three employees were released while efforts are going on for the release of remaining two geologists and a security guard.
