Project Scope:

  • To provide training in market-based and job-oriented trades to literate and semi-literate youth of FATA
  • To increase resource pool of trained youth for local, national and international industries and services sector.
  • To prepare literate/semi-literate/illiterate youth of FATA for getting on-job training in FATA Youth Skills Development Program (Field Internship).
  • To provide trained manpower for industry and other sectors when industrial development starts in FATA.
   Target: 2100 FATA youth to be trained

Present Status:
  • Fata Youth are providing short duration training courses in vocational training institutes of good reputations within the country to gain employable skills in different trades.
  • Efforts are being made to identify industries, Civil Works and service Organization where the trained youth may be able to get jobs on the bases of institution-based training. Others may want to start their own businesses. Small, large and medium-sized industries are being contacted in the various industrial/service organization/Civil Contractors for arranging internship. Large and medium-sized industries are being contacted directly for this purpose. Information collected from industries will also help us in planning future Skills Development Programmes.
  • So far, 893 trainees have successfully completed the training in various trades.
  • Training of 1019 trainees is in progress in different institutes.
